I find that pattern training the kitties gets me the best results.
Take the kitty to the litter box and stand them in it. Gently take one of their front paws in one of your hands. Place the paw, with the leg almost fully extended in front of them. Now pull the paw towards their face, gently sweeping the litter surface with it.Almost as if you were scratching the surface of the litter. This gives them the idea that it is there to bury their droppings in.
You may have to do this several times with each kitty till they get the message.
If they have a mistake, just take them to the litter box and repeat the same pawing of the litter.
Hope this works for you.
Good Luck.
Cats normally go somewhere they can bury it. Some cats are very picky about things. I would suggest getting a new litter box or bleaching the one you go. So there is no other cat smell in it. Also maybe try a different kind of litter. I would also take each kitty put it in the litter box then take its paw and start to dig in the litter with it so it knows. Good luck.
You can try a little oddity which I’ve had success with. When you know one of them has to go, put it’s front paws in th box and dig at the litter with a finger like a cat would. Sometimes this triggers their instinct.
You can also try to put the box in a place they like to go.
If that doesn’t work.
Try keeping them closed in a room for a while with their food, water, and the box and make sure the box is clean and there’s no other place (aside from the floor of course) that they might use.
Also buy some stuff at the pet store which keeps cats from frequenting an area and put it in some problem areas.
Most cats are tidy and prefer to go in their litter; I suspect yr kittens may have worms. By the age of 4 months (actually, by the age of 8 WEEKS) they should be fully trained and giving you no trouble. Take one kitten to the vet – with a stool sample in a CLEAN jar (spice jars work well, boil them first.) Once you get rid of the parasites, Yr Kittens should use their litter instead.
Your question doesn’t totally make sense. But I will try and help. If you get a normal cat box. Make sure it isn’t to tall for the kittens to climb into. Line it with lots of kitty litter. When you are home with them and see them drinking water or eating food, wait a little bit then put them in the litter box. They probably won’t have to go but, keep doing it until they do. At this young age they won’t be able to hold it long so it shouldn’t take all that long for them to go. If you can do that for a good couple of days they should get the hang of it. It comes natural to them and they actually like the litter box. If this doesn’t help talk to your vet. She may have some other options.
tats so simple. if your kitten is smart, it will naturally go to the litter pan, just like me cat =). Once your kitten has finish eating, carry your kitten and put it into the litter pan. Kittens are curious and will start digging and exploring. Do this everyday after your kittens has finish their meals, soon they will develop this habit and u no longer haf to carry them to their litter pan as they are used to this process. =)
This is rather unusual as the momma usually trains them. Were they ever dewormed? Is the litter box the covered type or open as it seems they want privacy. That is important to have box in a private area, normally a corner. Do not know how many cats envolved but maybe need more than one box. Try changing the litter type itself, a finer quick clump type. Easier to paw. I assume the litter box is not near where they eat or sleep. Most animals do not eat, sleep and void in same area unless forced to.
I have one in my closet and one tucked away corner of bathroom. They don’t like someone watching so they do tend to hide when doing. Tried them outside to see if use the dirt. Mine always like the flower beds!
You should time them about 5 minutes or 10 after they eat sit them in the litterbox.Until they get use to this. They they should be able to do it on their own.
Hello- How many kitties are there? Sometimes if one is ill, the rest will not use the same box.Sometimes you will have to but out many boxes, and the cats will use the one they want. You may have to spend many days picking up the cats and putting them in the litter, so they get the message.
Good Luck
ask your vet.
For me we had to put the cat in a room by itself for a few days with the litter box to make it go in it. Or it might not like the brand of litter you are using some cat’s are picky.
Did u know that cats WILL NOT poop/pee where they sleep. Maybe u could try this. I know we can’t always watch our cats 24/7, but if u can, get u a big cage of some sorts and put them in there, bed at one end and litter box at the other end. And everytime u leave the house u will have to put them in there otherwise they will continue to potty all over the house. Once u have done this on a regular basis, THEY WILL LEARN. I broke an outside cat of ur very problem this way. IT DOES WORK.
